The Location

The farm is located 25 km East of Paphos in the Xeros river valley, one of the most untouched and tranquil parts of the island. The beautiful landscape, the variety of classified plants and wild life and the authentic sounds of Nature in this area, makes it the perfect setting for nature lovers.

Kelokedara village: ORIGINAL VILLAGE CULTURE
Kelokedara village is part of the Laona project, an environmental agro-tourism plan to help local village economies participate in tourism without changing their traditional life styles. It is built amphitheatrically on a slope on the East Side of the Xeros.
A village with less than 300 residents with an average age of 55 years old. Young people are leaving the village to go and work in the towns. Short time will be given to wander around the village and enjoy the typical Cypriot architecture and atmosphere only to be found in such remote areas of Cyprus.
Quests will have the chance to walk through the village & visit an old traditional village house dated back 300 years approximately, where they will be able to see the methods that were used in the years gone by. Very important to describe or explain is the method of zivania making with the old instrument that is install in the house. They will sample many of local delicacies such as halloumi cheese, sushukko, village bread, olives, cucumber, all of them produced and made in the village, as well as local wine, the famous local distilled Zivania, which was still illegal four years ago.
The visit at the house lasts 20 min approximately.
