Village Culture - Donkey Riding

This excursion is especially designed for the discerning traveler who cares to discover and capture the original spirit of Cyprus. Our journey will take us through Greek and Turkish Cypriot villages, many of which have been abandoned. Our first stop will be at Kelokedara village, where we will visit an old traditional house, to reconstruct the lifestyle of the bygone days, to sample wine, "Zivania", and taste some local delicacies such as "halloumi", olives, "sushukko", fresh bread etc. Travelling with our village bus through picturesque orange groves, we make our way to the donkeyfarm.
The donkey ride will take us through the beautiful countryside till we arrive at the abandoned 13th century Cyndi monastery, which has been restored by UNESCO. In 1997 the monastery was granted the EUROPA NOSTRA award and was recognized as a location of World Cultural Heritage. There you will try some seasonal fruit, and can relax in the unique tranquility of this spot. The donkeys will then take us back to the farm, where a traditional BBQ will be waiting for you, with wine, zivania and juice for the children.
After your meal, join our sirtaki and let our "Donkey Farm" team surprise and entertain you with Greek and international music. An unforgettable experience not to be missed !
During the warm summer months the excursion will operate in the afternoon, dinner included.
