After the great success of the Donkey Farm Kelokedara in Pafos & the demand from the tour operators to provide the same concept of excursion in the East cost. A new location for Donkeys has been created at the Animal Park. This generation provides the same kind of service as the Donley Farm. Therefore to provide an other one shelter & Veterinary care for the Cyprus Donkey in its natural environment as well as to set up a Healthy Breeding program which will allow us to experience very often new deliveries. Combining a meeting with real Cyprus countryside, fun, adventure, good food, unexpected entertainment, to compose an exceptional & memorable experience.

The excursion is taking place at the “ARGONAFTIS Animal Park - Achna”, which located 15-20 min from Ayia Napa & Protaras in the aria of “Red Villages” up on a hill right  by the side of the Achna Dam – reservoir, with a magnificent view of the lake. Our facilities are mend to fit in with the natural environment. We use Stone and wood as the main materials and we can accommodate 250 people for lunch or dinner. Shelter & preventive medical treatment is given For 40 Donkeys.

On arrival at the park guests will sample many of locally produced delicacies such as “halloumi” cheese, “sushukko”, village bread, olives & cucumber as well as they will enjoy a welcome glass of local wine and a shot of the famous local distilled liquid “Zivania”.

Take a tour around the Park & Meet our friendly Donkeys and the other domesticated animals such us, Horses, Cyprus Bull, Goats, Ships, Pigs, rabbits, squirrels, snakes, turtles, Ostriches, monkeys & several kind of birds that enjoy shelter at the Animal Park.

A demonstration  and a safety briefing will take place about how to ride & control the Cyprus Donkey. Each rider will be assessed according to his/her weight & will be given the right donkey. Then we will start our ride through country tracks to the 14th century church, dedicated to Agios Georgios “Teratsiotis”. Seasonal fruit & water will be offered.

We come back from the chirch on the Donkeys for a Cyprus Tratitional Diner. After diner ends the entertainment program begins  with Greek, Cypriot & International music & dancing, including the famous “sirtaki” (Have to join in!!). We go on with some Latin and English music before turning back to some slow and romantic music where you can dance the night away under the stars. A final “sirtaki” will be our last dance.A diploma will be handed out to every participant who completed all the ‘tests’ :zivania drinking, sirtaki dancing, donkey riding,…  to take home as a souvenir and proof to be initiated in the Cyprus village culture and to have captured the original spirit of the island.
